I come across this article in high school and since this article has been always influential to me.
When playing video games, most of us will actively manage our resources in order to beat them. We would find ways to maximise the use of every single last drop of resources, ensuring nothing is wasted. We search for walkthroughs and join guilds to secure our wins.
However, only few of us manage our life actively as what we did in video games. We attribute our failure to the circumstances, fate and birth, but we forget we still have one factor that we may change - ourselves. Our body state, our willpower, our skill sets can be decided by ourselves, or at least be influenced. Success comes from actively utilising our strengths, building them when we don’t have one, and reflecting on our plan from time to time.
Look at yourself as a video game character and you will know your path to success - as you have always done in games.
